Kuehn Custom Homes Website

The Kuehn Custom Homes website has finally come to a completion. The website was designed by Baker One Design, and coded by yours truly. The design is great; got to hand it to Baker One Design. The thing I am most proud of is the custom Flash gallery. It is not a plugin or an adaption, but a 100% custom creation. Both the Interiors and Exteriors gallery share a common .swf file, and inside the html it passes a FlashVars, telling it which xml file to load. Within the xml file is the information pertaining to which images to load, and the gallery text heading. Here is a snippet:

Well it’s Friday at 4:36 PM, and I can’t think of anything else better to do than to update the blog! Let’s see …

Talked with a client today about designing some graphics for an Android app. That should be fun!
Currently creating some updated tea boxes for Hoa Da Herbal Medicines, Inc.
Also, the Hoa Da Herbal Medicines catalog is complete and has been printed. Will post images and/or video soon.
Working with Houston Piano Company to design a letterhead and an envelope.
In the past few months I’ve helped Mellisa Ray Insurance Agency with SEO (Search Engine Optimzation). If you type “Insurance The Woodlands” in Google, they are on the front page.
Setup a Facebook fan page for Michelle Becker. Go like it now!

Belated Christmas Light Hanging Postcard Brag

I had forgotten about this project, which was completed back in November of 2010. David Mills of Southern Mills Custom Builders wanted a postcard to hand out to potential customers about his Christmas light hanging business. I suggested we do something funny and whimsical, which he agreed to. The finished product is what you see here. My best friend Kyle Jackson, gladly agreed to do the poses, and Cindy DuPaul took the photos.

Just about done with a new website, featuring a nifty Flash animation. We still need to include a few more things, but the site is live, so why not brag about it? FABco – Houston Rebar
Did I mention I joined a networking group? I don’t think so … It’s called BNI (Business Networking International). My group is called $pring Cha-Ching, and we meet every Tuesday at the Crescent Moon Wine Bar, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. It makes me happy.
Really cool poster design for Jody Black (aka Aqua Mama). She is a Cruise Planner and Travel Agent, and is putting together a cruise for August 25-29. This poster uses the fonts Coronet LT Std and Insignia LT Std, which I received in my fancy new Adobe Font Folio 11. Click the picture below to see a super hi-res version.

K&C Classic Homes

The website for K&C Classic Homes is finally live! This was a joint effort between Baker One Design and myself. Baker One Design did the graphics, and art direction, while I did the Flash and website code. The website features some jQuery effects, such as navigation drop down, lightbox, and expanding information panels.
